Concept of the Program

The program is organized by the National Research Nuclear University (MEPhI) in cooperation with Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University (ETU "LETI") and is made possible by the support of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM.

Other universities of the Russian Federation are invited to participate in the program to promote their Master's and Bachelor's degree programs. They can take part in person and online within the framework of the educational exhibition, operating during all days of the program.


The program focuses on areas of ROSATOM's work in Africa.

Events are organized for two types of target audience:


  1. Academia & Business. Career education.

Target audience: educators, recent graduates, businesses.

Formats: Roundtable discussions, workshops, market insights, and presentations on continuing education in Russia.


2. Future Engineers.


Target audience: high school students, university students, teachers of technical disciplines.

Formats: hackathon, master classes, TED-talks, competitions (triathlon).

Lecture includes the demonstration of the functions of robotic systems (manipulator robots, transport robots) working in hazardous and harmful environment or performing high-precision operations in isotope production, nuclear medicine, nuclear power plants, etc.

11am 1pm Intellectual game “TechKnow Challenge”
A game for students and schoolchildren to test their technical and engineering knowledge. Participants answer questions from different categories. The questions are different levels of difficulty, and teams get points for correct answers. The team with the most points wins.

1pm – 2pm

Lunch for all program participants.

2pm – 3pm

More interactive programs for students and schoolchildren.
Hackathon teleconference for high school students “Roborangers” /Day 2/ Results
  • The hackathon jury chooses the winners.
  • Preparing the award ceremony.
  • It is possible to include a socio-cultural component for the teams and program participants: online concert or ROSATOM promotional video. The 'Togetherness' format teams from Russia and Ethiopia will meet and exchange contacts. (LETI - MEPhI)

3pm – 4pm

«University Showdown» Competition.

Brevity: Each university has 10 to 15 minutes to present itself. This lets participants to briefly but succinctly describe their educational programs, achievements and unique offerings.
Accessibility: Presentations should be understandable to anyone. The goal is to show the university's benefits and features to a wider audience, including applicants and their parents.
Entertainment: Entertainment is an integral part of the University Battle. University representatives can use humor, visual examples, interactive elements, and other ways to engage the audience and make their performance memorable.
Video presentation: All participants must show a 5-minute video about the university.
Competition: The audience votes for the best presentation at the end and chooses the best university. The winner gets a prize and is named the best university in the University Showdown Battle.

4pm – 5pm

Closing ceremony

The closing ceremony includes summarizing the results and awarding those who did well in the competitions and quest activities of the program.
